Proposed Bylaw Amendments for 2025

Per our current bylaws, the WA PRIMA Board requests membership’s approval of amendments to the Chapter’s bylaws at the next annual Chapter meeting, December 6, 2024.

Here is a summary of the changes in these amendments:

  1. WA PRIMA is shifting membership to an individual basis. This allows members to maintain their membership easily when they change positions. It also simplifies the process of collecting dues and signing up new members. Voting rights are still reserved for Government members on a “one organization, one vote” basis.
  2. Per-person dues for Government and Affiliate members are reduced to $50 per year. This removes distinctions among entity sizes or purposes, is more consistent with other PRIMA chapters across the country, and better-aligns expected revenue with operating costs. Prorated membership now rounds to the nearest half year instead of quarter.
  3. The per-meeting fee is reduced to $25. These amendments also clarify that any first-time attendee who would qualify as a Government member may attend a meeting as a guest at no cost.
  4. The President now breaks a tied Board vote instead of the Past President.
  5. With membership now on an individual basis, the amendments adjust the procedures for what to do if the Chapter dissolves while maintaining the "one organization, one vote" approach.
  6. These amendments also clean up typos and confusing language, make the bylaws internally consistent in the use of terms like “annual Chapter meeting”, remove outdated references, and remove the addendum which was created specifically for the pandemic.
